Harem rom-com is a genre which many men of culture enjoy irrespective of whether one likes anime or not.
Every year sees the release of numerous harem rom-coms, and Summer 2023 was no exception, with TenPuru making its debut on the small screens, as an anime adaptation of Kimitake Yoshioka’s manga series.
The story follows Akemitsu Akagami who has always admired his father s’ lifestyle and believed that people can never live alone.
But his words could not be further away from the truth as the Akagami lineage is famed for wooing women.
Determined to be an exception to his bloodline’s tact, Akagami decides to devote his life to studies and stays away from women.
One day, he meets a cute girl named Yuzuki, and his lecherous instincts kick in as he falls in love with her at first sight.
In a final effort to evade his desires, Akagami goes to a nearby temple and adopts the monk lifestyle to get rid of his impurities.
But fate has other ideas for Akagami as he encounters Yuzuki, and it’s revealed the temple is a nunnery wherein his father has a debt of 20 million.
Trapped in a dire situation, Akagami must stay at the temple until the debt is repaid.
Although TenPuru Season One received mixed reviews, fans who enjoyed the show are eagerly anticipating any news about a possible second installment.

What Is The TenPuru Season 2 Release Date?
TenPuru Season One aired from 9th July 2023 to 24th September 2023 for 12 episodes.
As of writing, there is no update from studio Gekko on the renewal of TenPuru Season 2.

Prior to renewals, creators must consider many factors with regards to profits and commercials.
As mentioned earlier, TenPuru Season One was an above average rom-com series that failed to make it to the top-rated anime list of Summer 2023.
Financially, the anime did not boost the sales of the manga Temple manga as it was not in the Top 50 Highest Selling Manga Series in September on Bookwalker.
The blue ray sets released in two parts on 25th October and 22nd November 2023 also did not do much in terms of increasing the sales.
Despite the ratings and finances, a crucial factor for the sequel will be studio and source material availability.
TenPuru is incidentally only the fourth anime produced by studio Gekko, and none of the past series includes sequels.Thus, its evident that the studio has not got a big production capacity and prefers new adaptions than renewals.
The creators of TenPuru can breathe a sigh of relief as there is still sufficient source material left to produce the highly anticipated TenPuru Season 2.
All in All, the chances of TenPuru Season 2 happening are at even odds.

How Many Manga Will Catchup In TenPuru Season 2?
Temple manga is written and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. It began serialization in Comic Days on 1st December 2018.
With the latest issue released on October 5th, 2023, the manga has now been compiled into 10 volumes for readers to enjoy.
As of June 2023, Temple manga has sold 1.4 million copies for Volume 1-8.

In the final episode of TenPuru Season One, “No One Should Live Alone,” Yuzuki thinks she should apologize to Akagami but flees when he arrives.
Akagami also wonders if he should apologize, especially after Kiki states not to forget the important things.
A worshipper family shifts their family grave to a new temple which enrages Kiki as Yuzuki allowed without charging them a fee. It leads to Kiki cancelling Yuzuki s’ training.
Yuzuki feels worthless as with no training, she can’t do anything, and Akagami is forced to do all the work.
After the chores, Akagami notices that Yuzuki has gone missing during a thunderstorm, and he rushes out to find her.
Drenched and suffering with fever, Yuzuki contemplates her mother s’ work who ran the temple successfully.
She fears that her efforts have been a failure as Akagami arrives and carries her home.
Later, he explains to Yuzuki to stop drying to everything alone and asks her to appreciate all the people who love her.
Everyone at the temple agrees with Akagami as Kiki announces that Yuzuki has moved to Enlightenment wherein she can resume her training after recovery.
The episode ends with Yuzuki quitting her job search and proceeds to repair the idol by asking for donations.
TenPuru Season One covered till Chapter 36 of the manga which means TenPuru Season 2 will begin by adapting Chapter 37.
The temple is short on funds to repair the main statue, which is barely held together by tape.
Akagami is desperate to recoup some cash, but Yuzuki, as always, wants to remedy the situation by herself.

TenPuru is directed by Kazuomi Koga with series composition from Yohei Kashi.
Characters are designed by Kimitake Yoshioka and the music is composed by Shuntaro Innami.
Studio Gekko, with Toshihiko Kojima serving as art director, produces the animation with utmost confidence.

Considering the popularity of the first season and studio s’ production schedule, it looks unlikely that TenPuru Season 2 will happen any time soon.
